Soybean Comment

Soybean prices regained some of yesterday's losses While the market expects additional supplies in tomorrow's report, soybeans demand will be key as the first quarterly stocks report will show how demand has been through the first quarter of 2013/14. today. Tomorrow's USDA report will likely see yields increase, with the average trade estimate 43.19/bu/acre (compared to 43 in November). Today's gains were surprising given the weakness in today's export sales report. Soybean prices maintain support at $12.55.

Wheat Comment

Wheat price moved lower again today, putting in a new contract low. Along with all of the hype for corn and soybean production numbers, the USDA will also release its winter wheat seedings in tomorrow's report, and traders are estimating that winter wheat acreage will be up some 500,000 acres from 2013. This extra acreage combined with large international supplies continues to push wheat prices lower in search of its price floor.

Corn Comment

Corn prices fell lower again today. Concerns about the more supplies and less demand continue to worry traders ahead of tomorrow’s USDA report. With the average trade estimate for yield at 161.1, this market will need demand to remain strong in order to prevent further price erosion. If the USDA report shows struggling demand look for corn to move lower and likely set a new low. In addition to concern over Friday’s report corn prices were pressured today by large ethanol stocks, which are the largest since September.

Rice Comment

Rice prices closed the day lower on light trade. This market remains cautious ahead of Friday’s USDA report. While changes in the rice balance sheet maybe small, rice will likely follow corn and soybeans on their ride.
