Soybean Comment

November beans closed below support at $11.86, and making the outlook for prices bearish. Beneficial rains continue to help give the crop a boost. The next support for prices is at $11.40. With next USDA report a week from Monday, expect next week to be volatile as traders position themselves ahead of the next report. Just as a reminder the next USDA report will include revisions from the resurveying following the June Acreage report.

Arkansas Daily Grain Report

Corn Comment

Corn prices fell again today putting in a new low, and are continue to eye the $4.60 support level. Prices continue to fall lower as weather conditions across parts of the Midwest still look good, despite the market being oversold. The hope that the market would move into a sideways pattern ahead of the August report does not look likely. If prices fall below $4.60 the next support level is at $4.30. Weakness in this market is also spilling over into the 2014 crop. December 2014 contract put in a new contract low today at $4.94. Just a thought for those of you planning on corn next year, there is still pricing opportunities above $5.00 for the 2014 crop, but they are disappearing quickly.

Rice Comment

The September rice futures continue to consolidate between resistance at $16 and support at $15.62. USDA says 69% of the crop is still rated good to excellent. Tough competition on the export market could limit the upside. Cheaper Asian origin rice is making it hard for U.S. rice to compete.
