Today's Arkansas LDP rate for soybeans is: |

Soybean Comment
Soybeans closed higher as the market expanded yesterday's upturn. Crop concerns in Argentina & continued good export demand has moved beans back toward recent resistance. Gains were trimmed in later trading as the market responded to reports from the Federal Reserve.

Today's Arkansas LDP rate for corn is: |
0¢ |
Grain Comment
Corn showed modest strength in late trading, which allow a move to the positive side. Weak demand & prospects for large plantings in2013 are keeping pressure on the market & limiting upside potential.
Wheat was a little higher despite prospects of additional moisture in the plains area. Wheat appears to be ready to make a partial retracement of recent gains, at least in the short term. Longer term this market may have further downside.

Cotton Comment
Cotton failed to hold early gains which took new crop December near 85 cents early. Federal Reserve minutes led to a downturn in equities which pressured cotton. Projected smaller plantings are a positive, but big world reserves will continue to limit upside potential.

Cattle futures were under heavy pressure with large negative packer margins weighing on the market. There was limited buyer interest even in the face of a major winter storm.

Hogs Comment
Hogs followed cattle lower in early trading, but was able to retrace a portion of the losses going into the close. Weaker retail demand pushed cutout values lower helped by pork supplies that remain larger than year ago levels.
