CHINA CONCERNED OVER U.S. POULTRY AND CORN…..The Chinese government is scrutinizing U.S. poultry exports and corn-based animal feed ingredients, Bloomberg News has reported.

China will reopen an investigation into U.S. poultry shipments for potential trade violations following a Word Trade Organization ruling earlier this year that found that China was unfairly penalizing U.S. exports; Beijing is trying to prove U.S. poultry products were subsidized and sold below cost.

The country has also ordered wider inspections of corn-based animal feed shipments from the United States to make sure they don’t contain unapproved, genetically engineered ingredients. As of earlier this month, China has rejected 12 U.S. corn shipments totaling 545,000 tons, saying they contained a genetically modified strain known as MIR162.
