Director of Public Relations

Summary:  Helps lead Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation’s Public Relations department. Position provides support for various efforts that communicate educational, lobbying, marketing and promotional messages to Farm Bureau members and the public. Executes and directs graphic design work for state office and county Farm Bureaus, ensuring visual communications standards are met across various media. Manages staff and production elements of graphic support services/mailroom area. Manages and coordinates online communications channels, including social media outlets and mobile app/website newsfeed. Coordinates organization’s content marketing process.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, Journalism or related field and five plus (5+) years’ experience in graphic design and editorial/writing, or eight plus (8+) years of related graphic design and editorial/writing experience, or equivalent combination of education and related editorial/writing experience. Knowledge of print production process is essential. Proficiency in the use of computer systems and current design programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.). Personal skills to include creativity, adaptability, initiative, a cooperative spirit, and a keen sense of responsibility. Must be able to: (1) work independently with little or no supervision and (2) analyze a project’s aims, plan the steps needed to accomplish those aims, and provide leadership to get appropriate tasks done. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with variety of individuals/groups/organizations.
