5/26/2010
Two college students begin 12-week stints
LITTLE ROCK — Two college students are now getting work experience as summer interns with Arkansas Farm Bureau.
Tara L. Johnson, 20, is the Public Relations intern. She is
the daughter of Thomas and Linda Johnson of Lead Hill (Boone County).
Johnson is a junior at the University of Arkansas and is pursuing a
bachelor’s degree in agricultural communications.
“I’m ready to immerse myself into the various experiences
Arkansas Farm Bureau has to offer. This internship will not only
provide valuable work experience but also insight into future career
options,” Johnson said.
LaShainea A. Bettis, 22, is the intern for Farm Bureau’s
Organization and Member Programs, Governmental Affairs, and the
Commodity and Regulatory Affairs departments. She is the daughter of
Jeff and Kim Bettis of Quitman (Cleburne County). Bettis plans to
graduate in December with an agricultural business degree from Arkansas
State University’s Beebe campus.
“I look forward to broadening my perspective of future
career possibilities and working closely with the strong role models of
Arkansas Farm Bureau,” Bettis said.
The 12-week internship will provide each intern with work experience related to their respective degrees.
