Newton County Farm Bureau’s annual meeting took place Aug. 30 in Jasper. At the meeting, Amber Campbell and Jeremiah Smith (center) were recognized as “Outstanding Young Farmers.” Amber's parents, Mary Lou and Richard Campbell, are on her left. Jeremiah’s parents, Farren and Deloris Smith, are on his right. State Rep. David Branscum of Marshall (left) and State Sen. Michael Lamoureux of Russellville (far right) gave a legislative update to Farm Bureau members attending the meeting.


Arkansas Farm Bureau helped sponsor the "Foodie Friday" activities as part of the 2013 Arkansas Women Bloggers Unplugged Conference. The conference took place at the Ferncliff Conference Center, Sept. 6-8, just outside of Little Rock. Arkansas farm Bureau's Susan Anglin (second from right) participated with her team in the cooking competition making Pineapple Ham Sliders.

On Sept. 3, Garland County Farm Bureau President Tommy Sorrells directed discussion of local issues at the county organization’s policy development meeting in the Lake Hamilton High School cafeteria. More than two dozen county Farm Bureau leaders and local officials participated in the meeting, where resolutions were developed on a variety of agricultural and local issues. Others participating in the discussion were State Rep. Bruce Cozart, County Judge Rick Davis and State Sen. Bill Sample.
