Applications are available
for county Farm Bureaus to enter the 2014 County Activities of Excellence (CAE) Awards program. The CAE showcases up to 24 of the top county Farm Bureau programs in the nation. These county Farm Bureaus and their award-winning programs serve as models of innovation for local program development, and display the amazing ability of local Farm Bureau volunteers working together to strengthen the lives of rural Americans and build strong, prosperous agricultural communities.
Counties will display their winning activities at the AFBF Annual Convention trade show, Jan. 12-13, 2014, in San Antonio. In addition, county Farm Bureaus will also receive up to four free registrations to the Annual Convection and a $2,250 stipend to apply toward the cost of travel and lodging.
With a focus on Farm Bureau’s priority issues, the CAE program groups county activities into the following areas: Education and Ag Promotion, Member Services, Public Relations and Information, Leadership Development and Policy Implementation.
Applications are judged based on county Farm Bureau membership groupings. Counties compete along with other Farm Bureaus of similar membership size.
Winners will be announced by October 11. All winners will receive special instructions on convention registration, housing and the trade show following the announcement.
Applications must be received by Jody Urquhart, ARFB’s state CAE coordinator, no later than Aug. 30.
