Donation to support M*A*S*H program

The Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas, a charitable foundation established and funded by Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, made a $65,150 donation to the Arkansas Farm Bureau Foundation to support the Medical Applications of Science for Health (M*A*S*H) program, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Attending the Jan. 19 check presentation at Farm Bureau Center in Little Rock were (left to right) Amanda Williams with Arkansas Farm Bureau; Warren Carter, executive vice president of Arkansas Farm Bureau; Arkansas Farm Bureau President Randy Veach; Patrick O’Sullivan, executive director of the Blue & You Foundation; Robin Howell, University of Arkansas for Medical Science (UAMS) program manager; and Amber Marshall, statewide pre-health program coordinator for UAMA.

The two-week summer M*A*S*H camps are designed to expose rising high-school juniors and seniors to healthcare-related vocations. County Farm Bureau organizations and the M*A*S*H Partnership sponsor students so they may attend the camps at no cost. The partnership includes the University of Arkansas for Medical Science’s Regional Centers, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Arkansas Farm Bureau and Baptist Health.
