The Young Farmers & Ranchers Excellence in Agriculture Award recognizes young farmers and ranchers who actively contribute and grow through their involvement in agriculture and Farm Bureau. The award is designed for an individual or couple who do not have the majority of their income subject to normal production risk. ENTRY DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 26, 2017.
This book contains official policy positions of the Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation and of the American Farm Bureau Federation. Policies of both organizations originate in the county Farm Bureaus. They undergo a series of evaluations by members, culminating in voting by locally chosen delegates to the state and national conventions.
The Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation, in cooperation with the Rice Council, has conducted a local rice promotion program for many years. The program is designed to stimulate local rice use and to increase awareness in the community about the importance of rice. This booklet contains information and facts for launching a program in any county, including material for speaking and teaching opportunities.
Each year Arkansas Farm Bureau, along with other dairy industry groups, sponsor the statewide Dairy Foods Contest as a means of promoting Arkansas’ dairy products. The state contest will be May 31, 2017, but now is the time to plan a local contest to qualify entries in the state cook-off. This booklet contains the rules for the 2017 Dairy Foods Contest.
The Arkansas Farm Bureau Dairy Division partners with the Cooperative Extension Service on the Arkansas Dairy Ambassador Program. The program is designed for youth from ages 14 to 19 with an interest in the dairy industry. This document contains official rules and guidelines for the program. The manual also includes all information and instructions for participation in the ambassador program. The deadline for application submission is May 26, 2017.
The program includes information prepared to assist in conducting a successful county poultry promotion program during 2017. The emphasis of the program is to provide resource material to counties to assist in local promotion efforts. State Recognition Awards will be presented at the Poultry Division Commodity Conference during the 2018 Winter Commodity Division Meetings. The award program rules are included in the poultry promotion program booklet.
