East Arkansas Crop Update

Terrance Scott of Scott Farms in Cotton Plant says consistent rain and cooler temps have soybean, corn and rice crops in East Arkansas looking "very good" heading into August. Scott forecasts farms just north of I-40 to yield 60 bushels of beans per acre with just a few more rains over the next two months. 2023 Top Young Farmers & Ranchers Recognized

John Michael and Rachel Bearden of Friendship (Hot Spring Co.) and Chris and Brooklyn Heiser of Lamar (Johnson Co.) earned the top Young Farmers & Ranchers awards Friday during Arkansas Farm Bureau’s annual Officers & Leaders Conference at the Hot Springs Convention Center. The awards honor young farmers and ranchers ages 18-35 for the general excellence of their operations and their hard work and innovation.

Arkansas Farm Bureau Officers and Leaders Conference in Hot Springs

Arkansas Farm Bureau’s 75th annual Officers and Leaders Conference is set for July 20 - 21 at the Hot Springs Convention Center. Themed Navigating the Future, the event will feature professional development sessions, commodity division meetings, recognition of outstanding Young Farmer & Rancher families, and wrapping up with a keynote from Steve Roberts, a former football coach. The annual event is expected to draw more than 500 Farm Bureau leaders to Hot Springs.
