Arkansas Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers announced the finalists for Excellence in Ag and Achievement Award contests.

The Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame inducted six individuals today for their leadership and service to the state’s largest business sector. The newest class represents agriculture education, the seed industry, agri-business, row-crop production, agricultural/political advocacy, timber management and agricultural research and outreach.

Arkansas Farm Bureau leaders participated in the American Farm Bureau Issues Advisory Committee meetings held in Arlington, Va. this month. The Issues Advisory Committee consists of 13 subcommittees focused on priority agricultural topics with a purpose of identifying issues and discussing appropriate actions and solutions.

U.S. Senator John Boozman of Arkansas will be presented with the Golden Plow award by the American Farm Bureau, the highest honor the organization gives to sitting members of Congress.

The Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame has announced that its induction ceremony will be postponed for three weeks due to safety concerns surrounding the increase in COVID-19 cases in Arkansas. The induction ceremony is now scheduled to occur at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock on March 25.

The Arkansas Farm Bureau Foundation has announced a $20,000 lead gift for tornado relief in Northeast Arkansas and has encouraged county Farm Bureau organizations, and others, to contribute financially to those relief efforts as well.

The Arkansas Farm Bureau Federation announced promotions for two public relations staff members this week, naming Jason Brown Director of Policy Communications and Jenny Higgs Director of Marketing.

The Cobb/Lyerly/Owens Partnership in Lake City (Craighead County) is the 2021 Arkansas Farm Family of the Year. The honor was announced today at a luncheon in North Little Rock honoring the county and district Farm Families of the Year.

Rich Hillman of Carlisle was reelected as Arkansas Farm Bureau’s president, and Mike Freeze of Little Rock will continue as the agriculture advocacy organization’s vice president.

The Women’s Leadership Committee from Scott County is the Outstanding County Women’s Program award winner for 2021. The group was recognized Dec. 2 during Arkansas Farm Bureau’s 87th Annual Conference at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. It was a repeat win for the county, which also earned the honor in 2020.
